Caring for your jewellery
Our pieces are crafted slowly — by hand, in small batches, with precious metals chosen for their beauty and meaning. A little mindful care keeps them glowing for years, letting them age gracefully with you.
925 Silver
Sterling silver loves to be worn — your body’s natural oils keep it looking alive and bright. Over time, it may gently oxidise or develop a darker patina, which many cherish as part of silver’s character.
Everyday Care
- Wear often. Storing unworn silver for long periods can accelerate tarnish.
- Keep away from perfumes, hair sprays, and harsh chemicals.
Cleaning
- The simplest, time-tested way: gently rub your piece with Colgate tooth powder using your fingers or a soft cotton cloth, then rinse with water and dry thoroughly.
- You can also use a special silver polishing cloth for quick touch-ups.
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry place, ideally in an airtight pouch or box.
- Keep pieces separate to avoid scratches.
24K Gold Plated Silver
These pieces carry a fine layer of pure gold over sterling silver, giving a warm, rich glow. They need softer handling to keep that finish beautiful.
Everyday Care
- Avoid direct contact with water, sweat, perfume, and lotions.
- Remove before bathing, swimming, or exercising.
Cleaning
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing to remove oils and residue.
- Never use silver polish, tooth powder, or abrasive cloths — they can wear away the gold layer.
Storage
- Store in a fabric-lined box or pouch, away from humidity.
- Keep pieces separate to prevent friction.
18ct Gold
Solid 18ct gold is enduring and made to be worn daily. Over time, it may develop a soft patina, adding warmth and depth.
Everyday Care
- Although gold is resistant to tarnish, protect it from hard knocks or scratching against other jewellery.
- Avoid harsh chemicals and chlorine, which can weaken gold over time.
Cleaning
- Soak briefly in warm water with mild soap, gently brush with a soft toothbrush, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth.
- Avoid abrasive pastes or cloths.
Storage
- Store in a soft pouch or separate compartment to keep it scratch-free.
Pieces with Stones
Natural stones add colour, energy, and individuality to each piece. They also need gentle care to stay luminous.
Everyday Care
- Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, or hair products, which may dull a stone’s surface.
- Remove pieces before physical activity, swimming, or bathing to protect both the setting and the stone.
Cleaning
- Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth.
- Avoid chemical cleaners, silver dips, tooth powder, or ultrasonic cleaners, which can damage stones or loosen settings.
Storage
- Store pieces with stones separately in soft pouches, so they don’t knock against harder metals or other stones.
- For softer stones (like turquoise, lapis, or opal), keep away from prolonged direct sunlight or heat, which may affect colour.
